Description:
Deer Crossing & Heron Watch at Wolf River, is a stylized interpretation of the natural life and quiet rhythm of the Wolf River ecosystem. The composition features two central figures—a deer and a heron—positioned on either side of the passage, referencing the experience of encountering wildlife along the Greenway.
Surrounding them are native plants, flowing water elements, and layered organic forms that reflect the movement and continuity of the river landscape. The imagery is arranged with a sense of balance and subtle symmetry, creating a calm and immersive visual experience.
The title echoes familiar environmental signage, grounding the mural in place while inviting awareness and observation. Repeating shapes and mirrored elements within the design suggest cycles of growth, presence, and connection within the natural world. The mural is designed to complement the surrounding environment while offering a vibrant and welcoming visual moment for those passing through the space.
Mural funded by a Creative Placemaking grant from the TN Arts Commission
